Implementation of Credit Card Address Verification

In our continued effort to safeguard our merchants from ever-growing fraud activity within the Credit Card processing industry we at OptionPay have made the decision to add AVS (Address Verification System) as a required field to our merchants' public payment pages. Having AVS is highly effective in supporting a merchant's case against potential credit card transactions disputed by a customer.

The purpose for having Credit Card Address Verification is to reduce fraudulent use of Credit Cards for online transactions. The customer billing address will be the one that their Credit Card issuer (Bank) associates to the customer's Credit Card. If the customer receives an address error when trying to process a transaction they will need to contact their Credit Card issuer to confirm the correct current address associated to their credit card.
